NessieDVB can operate in three mutual exclusive modes. But because NessieDVB has two independent satellite tuners, user can configure every tuner independently.


1. Mode "multicast"
(IPTV multicast streamer)

+Multicast mode requires setting exact tv channels on NessieDVB. User has to scan required satellite position and transponder (i.e. frequency) and preset channels, which are then constantly transmitted to the local network using multicast transmission.

+On the client side there can be used any compatible client software, like vlc (www.videolan.org), mplayer, Microsoft Windows Media Player and others.

 

2. Mode "vtuner"
(virtual dvb tuner or dreamtuner)

+Vtuner mode acts as remote networked DVB tuner. On the client side there is some of compatible stb or linux PC with appropriate driver. Driver forms impression for upper layer applications that DVB satellite card is connected locally.

3. Mode "DLNA"
(DLNA server)

+DLNA mode switches one or both tuners to DLNA server. User can connect with any DLNA compatible device (TV set, media player, PC, tablet or even smart phone) and receive any preconfigured channel.
